Vintage 'Clewco' 9ct Rolled Gold Shell Cameo Dropper Earrings
These vintage earrings are made by the jewellery company ‘Clewco’ and are made of hallmarked 9ct rolled gold. Each earring is set with a carved shell cameo of a lady in profile.
The earrings have a combined weight of 3.3g
Each earring has a drop (i.e. from the top of the stud part to the bottom of the cameo) of 2.5cms.
Each cameo mount is stamped ‘Clewco’ and ‘9ct rolled gold’. Each screw back fitting is stamped ‘RG’ for rolled gold.
These vintage earrings are in very good original condition, with no damage and showing just light signs of age / general wear. The cameo carvings are not quite identical; one of the ladies heads has a variation in colour, which is due to the thickness of the naturally pigmented layers in the conch shell. The screw fittings screw up and unscrew as they should.
