Vintage (1960) 9ct Gold Lucky Bean Charm
Vintage 3d ‘puffy’ lucky bean charm made of fully hallmarked 9ct gold and dating from 1960. The bean has a lovely, mellow gold, colour. Please excuse the shadowing in some of the photos - this is camera reflection and not discolouration or damage.
The reverse of the bean is stamped ‘9’ and ‘375’ for 9ct gold, along with hallmarks showing that it was made in Birmingham in 1960. There is a maker’s mark of ‘WJP’.
The bean has a height of approximately 1.6cms (excluding the top suspension ring) and weighs approximately 0.6g (it’s hollow).
This vintage charm is 63 years old and is in very good condition for its age, with no damage and showing just light signs of age / general wear. There are no dents; there is a very light pressure mark just above the hallmark on the back of the charm (not significant). The 9ct suspension ring is in good condition and has not been soldered closed.
