Rare Vintage 1940s 9ct Gold and Enamel Benzie of Cowes Yacht / Sailing Boat Charm
This rare, collectable, vintage charm dates from the 1940s and bears a maker’s / retailers mark for the prestigious maritime jeweller Benzie of Cowes. The front of the charm is enamelled in white with detailing picked out in grey lines.
The charm weighs 1.2g and measures approximately 1.7cms height (excluding the top suspension ring).
The reverse of the charm is stamped ‘BENZIE COWES’ and also ‘9CT’
This collectable charm is around 80 years old. The charm shows light signs of age and general wear; There is a small section of white enamel missing from the top of the charm and it’s possible that the bottom part of the charm (the hull of the yacht) was also one originally enamelled. The suspension ring has been cut (where the charm was removed from a bracelet).
