This substantial heart padlock clasp dates from the Edwardian era and is made of hallmarked 9ct rose gold.

The clasp measures approximately 2.9cms height (including the securing arm) and the heart itself has a maximum width of 1.6cms.

The clasp weighs approximately 3.5g

The reverse of the clasp is stamped ‘9CT’ for 9ct gold and there is also a maker’s mark of ‘M.D’

This clasp is over 100 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing light signs of age and general wear. There are a couple of small, superficial, pinprick size dents (one on the bottom front and three on the reverse) and the top securing arm sits a little to one side. The securing arm opens easily and clicks securely into place so it’s fully usable as a secure clasp.
