Large Antique Edwardian 9ct Gold Double Photo Locket Pendant

£79.00
sold out

This good size antique double photo locket pendant is made of hallmarked 9ct yellow gold and dates from the Edwardian era. The locket has two glass covers and retains one of its original photos (which can be easily removed / replaced). The other side of the locket has a cream silk type backing material. The locket is opened by unscrewing the top bale, which releases the glass covers from within the frame. The bale then screws back on securely once photos have been placed under the glass, bringing the frame together again.

The locket measures 4cms height (excluding the bale and suspension ring) x 3.2cms maximum width.

The bottom of the frame bears a ‘9CT’ stamp for 9ct gold; the stamp is a little unclear but can be made out. The frame has also been tested and is made of 9ct yellow gold.

This antique locket pendant is over 100 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing just light signs of age / general wear. The glass covers are in very good condition (no chips or cracks) and sit securely within the mount. The top suspension ring is fully closed but has not been soldered.
