Good Size Antique (1928) 9ct Rose Gold Double Sided Picture Locket Pendant
This good size, decorative, antique double photo locket pendant is made of fully hallmarked 9ct rose gold and dates from 1928. The locket has two glass covers and retains one of its original photos (which can be easily removed / replaced). The other side of the locket has a cream paper / card backing. The locket is opened by unscrewing the top bale, which releases the glass covers from within the frame. The bale then screws back on securely once photos have been placed under the glass, bringing the frame together again.
The locket measures 3.5cms diameter and it weighs 6.8g
The frame is stamped ‘9’ and ‘375’ for 9ct gold, along with hallmarks showing that the locket was made in Birmingham in 1928. There is also a maker’s mark. The suspension ring is also stamped ‘9 375’
This antique locket pendant is 96 years old and is in very good condition for its age, with no damage and showing just very light signs of age / general wear. The glass covers are in very good condition (no chips or cracks) and sit securely within the mount. The top suspension ring is fully closed but has not been soldered.
