Elegant Antique Art Deco Era Teardrop Carnelian Pendant
This stylish and elegant antique pendant dates from the Art Deco era and is made of natural carved and polished carnelian. The carnelian has lovely natural pattern and colour variation and is fitted with a 9ct gold suspension ring.
The pendant measures 4cms drop / length (including the bale but excluding the top suspension ring) and it weighs 5.6g
As is often the case with jewellery of this age and type there are no hallmarks; the suspension ring has been tested and is made of 9ct yellow gold.
This antique pendant is around 100 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing just light signs of age / general wear. The carnelian has a lovely, polished and glossy surface finish. On close inspection it can be seen that there is a surface reaching natural inclusion within the stone which has caused a tiny 2mm chip in one area. The suspension ring has not been soldered closed.
