Decorative, Good Size, Antique Edwardian 9ct gold Swallow / Crescent Brooch
This decorative and sentimental antique brooch dates from around 1900 - 1910 and is made of hallmarked 9ct yellow gold. The brooch is in the form of a crescent, centrally set with a swallow and with scrolling, foliate and beadwork decoration around.
The brooch measures 4.5cms length (measuring the crescent, tip to tip) and it weighs 2.2g
The reverse of the brooch is stamped ‘9CT’ for 9ct gold, along with a maker’s mark of ‘R.P’. The pin itself is not gold.
This brooch is over 100 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing light signs of age / general wear in the form of a couple of light, tiny, pin prick type dents to the front and reverse. The brooch pin / clasp are original and are in secure working order.
