Beautiful, Elegant, Antique Edwardian 9ct Gold and Natural Amethyst Dropper Earrings
These beautiful and elegant antique earrings date from around 1910 and are made of hallmarked 9ct gold. The gold has a lovely rich, mellow, tone and is somewhere between rose gold and yellow gold in colour. Each earring is set with a facetted teardrop shaped amethyst, suspended from a 9ct gold chain section. The amethysts have a vibrant, rich, mid purple colour and have been cut and facetted to reflect the light beautifully. The earrings have secure screw fittings.
Each earring has a total height / drop when on the ear of approximately 2.3cms and the earrings have a combined weight of 1.5g
The back of each earring fitting is stamped ‘9CT’ for 9ct gold. The side of each amethyst mount is also stamped ‘9CT’.
These antique earrings are over 100 years old and are in very good condition for their age, showing just very light signs of age / general wear. The amethysts are both in lovely condition with no chips or scratches and with nice, crisp, facets. One of the backs to the screw fittings has a few light scratch marks, but this is not significant. The screw fittings open and close as they should.
