Beautiful and Unusual Antique Edwardian Era 9ct Gold Dragonfly Locket Pendant
This lovely and individual antique locket pendant dates from the Edwardian era and is made of 9ct yellow gold. The front of the locket bears an engraved dragonfly motif, which is set with clear and pink paste stones. The locket opens to reveal two locket compartments.
The locket measures 2.1cms diameter and it weighs 4.5g
The locket is stamped ‘9CT BACK & FRONT’ which means that the locket front and back are 9ct gold and that the frame and inner securing rings are a gold coloured metal, which improves the locket’s strength and durability. The locket is also stamped ‘SILVER SETTING’ which means that the paste stones are channel set in silver.
This antique locket is in good condition for its age, showing just light signs of age / general wear. There are no missing paste stones, on close inspection it can be seen that two of the stones are chipped. There are no dents to the front of the locket, the reverse shows light signs of age / general wear. The inside of the locket retains both inner securing ring and has one protective Perspex type cover. There is a small spot repair to the bale. The locket opens easily and closes securely with a click.
