Antique Victorian 9ct Gold and Diamond Locket Brooch

£115.00

This decorative antique brooch dates from the Victorian era and is made of 9ct gold. The brooch is in the popular target design with starburst detailing and is set with a central ‘rose cut’ diamond. The reverse of the brooch has a glazed locket compartment, with original card backing. A safety chain has been fitted for added safekeeping.

The locket brooch measures 2.7cms diameter and it weighs 4.3g

As is often the case with jewellery of this age and type there are no hallmarks, but the brooch has been professionally tested and is made of 9ct gold. The pin itself is not gold and the safety chain has not been tested for gold content.

This brooch is around 150 years old and is in very good condition for its age, with no dents or damage and showing just very light signs of age / general wear. The glazed panel is intact; by design it is quite deep set within the reverse compartment of the brooch. The clasp / pin are in secure working order.
