This decorative antique ring is made of fully hallmarked 9ct yellow gold and dates from 1880. The ring front is set with four genuine almandine garnets in slightly varying shades of deep crimson / plum, with a total of six genuine seed pearls set around. The gemstones are in a closed back setting and the gold has ornate scrolling and carving detail around the setting, ring shoulder and shank.

The ring is a UK size Q and a half / between a US size 8 - 8.5

The inside of the ring shank is stamped ‘9’ and ‘375’ for 9ct gold, along with hallmarks showing that it was made in Birmingham in 1880. There is a maker’s mark of ‘TW&Co’

The ring front has a height of 1cm and the ring weighs 1.7g

This antique ring is 144 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing light signs of age / general wear. The stones all seem secure in their settings; on close inspection it can be seen that two of the garnets are set on a slight angle. The seed pearls vary a little in shade, lustre and finish and one of them may be a historic replacement. Please see all photos for full detail.
