This lovely, romantic, antique Victorian brooch is made of fully hallmarked sterling silver and is set with a polished oval Scottish granite plaque in the form of a heart.

The brooch measures 3.6cms in width and the heart has a maximum height of 1.5cms.

The brooch weighs 2.5g

The reverse of the brooch is stamped with the lion passant (for sterling silver), along with hallmarks showing that it was made in Birmingham in 1851. There is a maker’s mark of ‘CHP’

This brooch is 172 years old and is in very good condition for its age, with no damage and showing just light signs of age and general wear. The clasp / pin are in secure working order.
