Antique Platinum, 18ct Gold, Sapphire and Diamond Ring
This beautiful and elegant antique ring dates from around 1910 - 1920 and has all the elegance of Edwardian design, with a hint of the Art Deco style that was emerging around the time it was made. The ring is made of hallmarked platinum and 18ct yellow gold and is set with ten genuine diamonds and two natural sapphires. The diamonds and sapphires are set in platinum and the rest of the ring is made of 18ct yellow gold.
The ring is a UK size K - K and a half / between a US size 5 - 5.5
The ring front measures 8mm x 6mm and the ring weighs 1.8g
The inside of the ring shank is stamped ‘PLAT 18CT’ for platinum and 18ct yellow gold.
This antique ring is at least 100 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing light signs of age / general wear. The centre top and bottom diamonds are a little less sparkly than the others as, due to the design of the ring, they are in closed back settings (unlike the others) and the light doesn’t pass through them. Under magnification it can be seen that there are a few little surface fleabite nibbles to the sapphires but these are not obvious to the naked eye.
