This collectable antique mourning brooch / lace pin dates from around 1820 - 1840 and is made of 9ct yellow gold. The front is set with hair, under a glass panel, surrounded by eighteen seed pearls.

The brooch measures 1.7cms x 1.2cms and it weighs 2.0g

As is often the case with jewellery of this age and type there are no hallmarks, but the brooch has been professionally tested and is made of 9ct yellow gold.

This brooch is around 200 years old and is in very good condition for its age, showing just light signs of age / general wear. The brooch retains its original clasp / pin, which are in secure working order. On close inspection it can be seen that there are cracks / nacre loss to two of the seed pearls. The pearls all appear to be original.
