Antique Edwardian Silver Gilt, Moonstone and Seed Pearl Clover Leaf / Shamrock Pendant
This beautiful antique pendant is made of silver gilt (solid silver with a pale 9ct gold wash over). The pendant is centred with a shamrock / clover leaf / trefoil, which is set with three cabochon moonstones and a total of twenty seed pearls.
The pendant has a diameter of 2.4cms and it weighs 3.9g
As is often the case with jewellery of this age and type there are no hallmarks, but the pendant has been professionally tested and is silver gilt.
This antique pendant is over 100 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing light signs of age / general wear. The moonstones and seed pearls area all in good condition. It’s likely that the pendant was converted in antiquity from a brooch or part of a necklace as there are light signs of conversion on the reverse. The top suspension ring has not been soldered closed.
