Antique Edwardian 9ct Rose Gold, Seed Pearl and Garnet Heart Locket Pendant
This pretty and decorative antique locket pendant dates from the Edwardian era and is made of 9ct rose gold. The front of the locket is set with seed pearls and a single garnet and opens to reveal two locket compartments which could house photos, a lock of hair etc. This locket is in very good condition for its age, inside and out.
The locket is of the 9ct gold ‘back and front’ variety, which means that the front and back panels of the locket are made of 9ct gold and the inner securing rings and frame are made of a gold coloured metal (which improves the locket’s strength and durability).
The locket measures 2.3cms height (including the integral bale but excluding the top suspension ring) and it weighs 3.7g
The reverse of the locket is stamped ‘9CT BKS & FTS’ for 9ct gold back and front (see above for detail).
This antique locket is in very good condition for its age, with no dents or damage and showing just very light signs of age / general wear. The inside of the locket has all its original parts: two inner securing rings, cream backing paper and two perspex type protective covers. The seed pearls and garnet are in good condition. The locket opens easily and closes securely with a click. The top suspension ring has not been soldered closed.
