Antique Edwardian 9ct Rose Gold Heart Padlock Clasp
This antique heart padlock clasp dates from the Edwardian era and is made of hallmarked 9ct gold; the gold is somewhere between yellow gold and rose gold in colour. The padlock differs from most others of this type as it has a different opening / closing mechanism: the arm simply lifts up and pushes down which means that, when closed, it is not secured by anything other than tension (it can open quite easily).
The clasp measures 1.6cms height (including the securing arm) and it weighs 1.6g
The reverse of the clasp is stamped '9CT' for 9ct gold. There is also a 'PAT' stamp (relating to the patent for the closing mechanism).
This antique clasp is in very good condition for its age, with no damage and showing just light signs of age / general wear.
