Unique Antique Edwardian 9ct Rose Gold Heart Padlock Charm (With Inscription for 1907)

£69.00

This sweet, sentimental and unique antique heart padlock charm dates from the Edwardian era and is made of 9ct rose gold. The heart has been converted in antiquity from a clasp into a charm; it no longer functions as a clasp. The front of the heart is engraved ‘19-9-07’ and the reverse is engraved: ‘Barbara Mary Tanner’.

The charm measures 1.6cms height (including the top arm) and it weighs 0.8g

As is often the case with jewellery of this age and type there are no hallmarks, but the charm has been professionally tested and is made of 9ct rose gold.

This antique charm is around 117 years old and is in good condition for its age with no dents and showing just light signs of age / general wear. There are light signs of spot solder at the join of the arm and the clasp where it was converted (in antiquity) from a clasp to a charm: the arm no longer lifts out of the heart. Please see photos for detail.
