Antique Edwardian 9ct Rose Gold and Citrine Bar Brooch

£42.00

This stylish antique brooch dates from the Edwardian era and is made of hallmarked 9ct rose gold. The brooch is centrally set with a citrine in a rich, marmalade orange, shade.

The brooch bar measures 4.5cms in length and the citrine measures 11mm height (including the gold mount).

The brooch weighs 2.1g

The underside of the brooch bar has some faint hallmarks which can be made out under magnification: ‘9’ and ‘375’ for 9ct gold. There are also some other small hallmarks that I can’t quite make out. The pin itself is not gold.

This antique brooch is in very good condition for its age, showing just light signs of age and general wear. The citrine itself is in lovely condition with no chips or scratches and with nice, crisp, facets. There is a small spot of irregularity in the finish of the gold on one half of the brooch (a slightly darker ‘spot’). The brooch retains its original pin and clasp which are in secure working order.
