Antique Edwardian 9ct Gold Double Sided Glazed Photo Locket Pendant

£83.00
sold out

This antique double sided picture locket pendant dates from the Edwardian era and is made of hallmarked 9ct yellow gold. The locket has two glass covers. The locket is opened by unscrewing the top bale, which then releases the gold frame and glass covers so that photos can be inserted. The locket can then be re-assembled and the top bale screwed back in place.

The glass covers measure 2.5cms diameter (excluding the gold frame) and the locket weighs 4.2g

The gold frame is stamped ‘9.375’ for 9ct gold along with a maker’s mark of ‘WJP’. The bale is also stamped ‘9.375’

This locket is over 100 years old and is in excellent condition for its age, with no damage and showing just the lightest signs of age / general wear. There are no dents to the gold and no chips or scratches to the glass. Without photos inside, the glass is loose in the frame but it is a good fit when there are inserts in place (a piece of cardboard may need to be put between two photos in order to create the correct thickness).
