Antique Edwardian 14ct Gold and Moonstone Brooch
This beautiful antique brooch dates from around 1910 - 1920 and is made of (at least) 14ct yellow gold. The brooch front is set with two natural, cabochon cut, moonstones: one oval and one circular.
The brooch has a length of 3.9cms and it weighs 2.5g
The circular moonstone has a diameter of 7mm and the oval moonstone has a height of 8mm
As is sometimes the case with jewellery of this age and type there are no hallmarks, but the brooch has been professionally tested and is made of at least 14ct yellow gold.
This brooch is at least 100 years old and is in good condition for its age, showing just light signs of age / general wear. Both moonstones are secure in their settings; on close inspection it can be seen that the mount around the oval moonstone is slightly irregular in finish but this is not obvious.
