Antique Double Strand Cultured Sea Pearl Necklace With 9ct Gold Clasps
This classic, timeless, antique double strand pearl necklace dates from around 1900 - 1920. The double strands comprise of graduated cultured sea pearls and the necklace has the benefit of a 9ct gold safety chain for added safekeeping.
The necklace strands measure 17.5” and 18” in length (by design one length is slightly longer than the other). The smallest pearls measure 3mm diameter and the largest pearls measure 7mm diameter.
The necklace weighs 26.2g
The bolt ring clasp is stamped ‘9K’ for 9ct gold. The safety chain clasp is stamped ‘9ct’ for 9ct gold.
This antique necklace is in good condition for its age, with no damage and showing just light signs of age / general wear. The pearls are well matched colour-wise and with a nice lustre. They naturally vary a little in size, shape and surface finish. The silk threading shows a little discolouration around the clasp area. The clasps on both the necklace and safety chain are in secure working order.
