Antique (c.1930) Silver Filagree & Shell Cameo Bracelet Depicting Vesuvius Erupting
This charming antique filagree bracelet dates from around 1930 and is made of silver. The bracelet was most likely originally made as a souvenir piece and depicts Mount Vesuvius erupting as viewed from the Bay of Naples in Italy. There are three hand carved shell cameos in the bracelet (all depicting the same scene).
The bracelet measures 8” in length (20cms) and it weighs 13.3g
The bracelet has a maximum height (in the centre) of 3.2cms and the largest cameo measures 2cms x 1.5cms
As is often the case with jewellery of this age and type there are no hallmarks, but the bracelet has been tested and is made of a European grade of silver.
This antique bracelet is around 90 years old and is in very good original condition, with no damage and showing just light signs of age / general wear. The clasp is in secure working order.
