sold out

This antique double sided photo locket pendant is made of fully hallmarked 9ct rose gold and dates from 1913. The locket is offered for sale in exceptionally good condition, given its age, with no dents to the gold and no scratches to the glass. The locket is the same on both sides (except that one side bears the hallmark). Each side has a circular glass cover and contains removable images. The locket is undone by unscrewing the top bale which then opens the frame and releases the two glass covers and inner cardboard backing; a photo / lock of hair can then be fitted inside before securing the gold frame again by screwing up the bale.

The locket has a diameter of 2.5cms and it weighs 3.6g

One side of the locket is stamped ‘9’ and ‘375’ for 9ct gold, along with hallmarks showing that it was made in Birmingham in 1913. There is also a maker’s mark.

This locket is 111 years old and is exceptionally good condition for its age, with no damage and showing just the lightest signs of age / general wear. There are no dents to the gold and no scratches or damage to the glass covers.
